Uses of C4H10 gas: This substance is not only used directly as fuel and refrigerant, but is also extensively utilized for the production of various organic synthetic raw materials. 
For example, hydrogenation can produce butene and butadiene; isomerization can produce isoC4H10; catalytic oxidation can yield cis-butenedioic acid anhydride, Acetic-Acid, etc.; halogenation can produce halogenated C4H10; nitration can produce nitroC4H10; catalytic hydrogenation at high temperatures can produce carbon disulfide; steam reforming can produce hydrogen. 
Additionally, C4H10 can be used as a blending agent for motor fuel to control volatile components; it can also be used as a deasphaltifying agent for heavy oil refining; a solvent for wax precipitation in oil wells; a flowover agent for secondary petroleum recovery; a foaming agent for resins; a refrigerant for converting seawater into fresh water; a solvent for Ziegler polymerization of olefins, etc. 
Chemical reactions and uses: Alkanes are inert gases because their C-C and C-H bonds are very strong. They do not react with acids, bases, metals, or oxidants. Surprisingly, they do not react with acids or bases. However, Octane will not react with concentrated sulfuric acid, alkali metals, or Potassium-Permanganatete.

ADVANTAGES 

Clean and efficient
When C4H10 burns, it only produces carbon dioxide and water vapor, generating almost no harmful gases or particles. Compared to traditional fuels such as coal or Die-sel, it is more environmentally friendly. Its combustion calorific value is approximately 30% higher than that of Natural-Gas and liquefied petroleum gas. In environments above 0℃, it can release 12% more energy when burning the same volume of substances. 
Safety
C4H10 itself is not toxic. However, when burning in a confined space, ventilation should be ensured to prevent the accumulation of CO. For normal combustion, only simple and safe devices are required for use, and it is suitable for outdoor camping and other scenarios. 
Wide range of applications
C4H10 can be used in various devices such as water heaters, stoves, air conditioners, etc. It is also convenient for storage and transportation, and has a relatively low requirement for environmental temperature (it remains in gaseous state as long as the temperature is above 0℃). 
Low-temperature limitation
C4H10 will liquefy at temperatures below 0℃ and cannot be used normally (such as in extremely cold environments like mountains). Special equipment is required for processing before it can be used. ‌
